i completed the jan 8 blog....

happy new year and merry christmas

it's been a couple of weeks since i last posted. i can't really say it's because i have been busy, cause that would be a lie.

im currently at my parents house. i took the week off for christmas and my birthday, and i was hoping that i would be re-energized for work. but i don't think that is happening. i don't find it relaxing to be here. it disrupts my flow. im in an unfamiliar bed, thats so UNCOMFORTABLE with gross pillows and gross blankets. there is a water tank beside the room im sleeping in, so everytime someone runs water or flushes a toilet i hear it. it's just annoying for me.

new years was okay. john wouldn't commit to what we were doing. all we could agree on was that we were gonna spend it with ryan and justin. on the 30th it was decided that we'd go for dinner at the KEG MANSION. since it was new years, the place didn't accept reservations so we got there at like 620 and finally got our table at like 740ish. i ended up having the lobster tail and sirloin steak with fries. to drink i was classy and has a chocolate martini. i was so full after dinner. we ended up taking a taxi to justins house. it was only 20 bucks and i was the classy one, so i paid for it.

when we got there we started to drink and smoke, and then it was time to exchange xmas presents since we hadn't seen eachother for a while. i got a GAP gift card. i need clothes so it was appreciated. a little after midnight that we decided to take a taxi to justin's friend tracey's house. she was having a get together, and we thought it would be fun to spice things up. when we got there, the house was annoying..there was this couple there that told justin they didnt like me, traceys dad was drunk banking on pots and pans. i was DYING. i needed to go. we left, went back to justins place. hung out for 2 more hours then went to sleep.

next morning we just hung out a bit and then we went home.

i worked on the saturday and then i was officially vacation for a week. sweet. came to my parents house from tuesday-friday to just chill out. since it was asher's(my nephew) first christmas i made sure to get him presents. i got him a tigger toy (from winnie the pooh), a sleeper and a beatrix potter book. i love shopping for baby stuff. i am gonna be the coolest uncle. i can already foresee it... lol

what's there to think about the baby?

the last few days have been up and down for me. for christmas i got a new pair of plaid pajama pants from marie from gap. normally i wouldn't like plaid, but these fit really nice and they even make my ass look good. they are the ones in the pic only instead of having red in them they have green. i am wearing them right now :-) from john i got the george michael live in london blu-ray , the european 3-disc delux edition of george michael's "25" greatest hits collection and the newest margaret cho stand up dvd "beautiful" . i've already watched the george michael concert a few times. it was recorded in london about a month after i saw the show in toronto so the set list is a little different, but it does include all of my fave parts of the show so i cannot complain. we watched the margaret cho dvd the other night and it was funny. i really enjoy her. i saw her "revolution" and "assassin" tours live, but didn't get a chance to see this one, so it's nice to own. christmas isn't over for me yet, cause i really celebrate it on january 7th, cause i was raised eastern orthodox and eastern orthodox people observe the old julian calendar. i hate explaining this to people. it's annoying to have to explain that i was raised (notice i say "raised" and not "am") orthodox and celebrate xmas and easter on different dates then most christians, cause most of the people i explain it to have never heard of orthdox christians even though the orthodox christians are the second largest group of christians in the world.. blah blah blah. so anyways xmas is jan 7 and it's gonna be the whole family for the first time since...god..probably the mid 90's...gonna be interesting..

today i went downtown to meet up with my best friend from high school. it was her birthday yesterday and i was supposed to attend her dinner, but work got in the way so we had to raincheque it for today. we went to dinner at milestones, then went to the cinema. we saw "precious". okay let me tell you, this movie is probably the BEST movie i saw this year. i can't tell you how many times my eyes teared up.. its definitely worth watching and i hope everyone sees it. everyone was good in it. even mariah carey! i expected her to make me cringe, but she was good in it..

i've been working a lot lately. and i don't know.. there's just something about the holidays that make me hate my job. i used to like the challenge, make work fun, try to do my best. but lately it's just been that it's such a drag to be there. i find myself looking at the clock counting down the minutes before i can leave. i do things half assed, cause i know in the end it won't make any kind of difference. i don't work for a company that values its employees. they say they do, but seeing what i've seen in the past 10 years, i know better.. i am determined to make 2010 a better year for me. this is what i want for myself in the new year:

-a job that i enjoy
-to get healthy and looking hot
-to get my money situation in gear

i like to give different years different slogans. these are what i gave the last few years:

2008 - the year of change --> nothing changed. lol.
2009 - back to basics --> i guess that kind of happened.
2010 - the year of ME

the year of me means that i am gonna get my shit together, i'm gonna stop making excuses to myself, i am gonna push myself to my limit. i am going to do all that for myself so that in a year i can say that i am happy with how the year has gone. anyways enough year talk, cause i know that i'll make another post reflecting on 2009.

so we all know mariah carey has a big ego and not the talent to match it, and she thinks shes the most successful female artist of all time (even though madonna clearly wins that). well anyways we can add something else to list. she's also a horrible live singer. when i saw this i couldn't believe my ears. i had to watch it a few times.

last night was a lot of fun.

i caught the 6:43 train to union station, then from union station took the subway to eglinton station and from there took a taxi to jay's house. i got there around 7:40. we made drinks and just chatted. the plan was to be at june's for around 9. but we hadn't seen eachother in months, so we just chatted and chatted, and jay didnt get into the shower until like 9ish. we called a cab to take us to june's house and we were out the door by 9:45.

we got to june's house and it was the first time i had been there, so i demanded a tour of the house. it's a very pretty house..i gave her a copy of "Branko's Classy 2009" which is a CD i made for her and jay of the best of 2009 (IMO). the track list is:

we enjoyed the fabulous cd, then i went through june's cd collection and pulled out a few cds. i pulled out aquariam (aqua), best of (sade), heat (toni braxton) and secrets (toni braxton) and at this point i was quite drunk so i decided it would be a good idea to perform. so i turned the songs on and i belted. i did:

it was fun. i think jay and june enjoyed it more than i did. but what can you do? when it was close to midnight it was time to make it to nick's x-mas party. we took a taxi there (it was under 10 bucks) and when we got there were tons of people there. it was enjoyable. i ended up spilling drinks on 3 people. only 2 of the times it was my fault. one of the times a girl jumped up at me. i felt horrible every time, but i got over it. lol. jay and i were talking to this chick and we started calling her missy, and it was all good and then missy's sister came over and jay told her that missy is a slut. missy and her sister didn't like that and they walked away. lol. in retrospect people were running away from us all night. it's cause they were jealous.

jay left me around 1:30. i let him take the first cab, and i had a hard time flagging down a taxi, so i had to get nick to call me one. it did and i got home and i was drunk as all hell. poor john had to deal with me. lol. i went to sleep shortly after, and i woke up feeling great.

today when i got up around 12:30 pm i put it on cp24 and saw that the olympic torch was on my street like 3 km's from where i live so john and i decided to go on the balcony and take pics. here they are:

tonight i am going to nick's christmas party. the theme is tacky sweaters. i am not participating..lol.. jay is coming with me..before we go to nick's we are gonna visit june...it'll be a nice night i think...

oh sundays

what i love about sundays is the fact that i can wake up at 1:00 pm and and sit around and do nothing all day, and i do not feel guilty about it.

first snowfall

i always look forward to the first snowfall..i love it...it reminds me of when i was young, because it seems most of the best childhood memories of mine took place in the winter..it brings me back to a time when everything was much more simple...

i took some pictures from my balcony...they didn't turn out great, but they don't look like garbage either..
